The history of Batumi's colonnades dates back to the 1930s, making them one of the city's symbols. You can often see their photos on various advertising materials and brochures inviting visitors to Batumi.
This white, classically elegant architectural structure was originally built to mark the entrance to the seafront. However, over the years, the waterfront has expanded, but the colonnades have remained in place and remain an integral part of Batumi. Today, they continue to exist with new life.
